Sherman Alexie Interview
I was listening to my favorite am program, NPR's "Bob Edwards Weekday" show, on my drive to work the other morning and happened to catch a great interview with Sherman Alexie. Sherman is an incredible native American poet and novelist who overcame major childhood illness and left a tough life on the Spokane Indian Reservation to go on to become one of America's most published native American writers. He is currently touring for his latest novel Flight and has a new young adult book, "The Absolute True Diary of a Young Adult Indian" (Little, Brown) due out in September 2007. With Sherman's success it may just end up as next year's Newberry Award winner. If you are interested check out my blog links to his website and the NPR interview.
